LA Public Library

The LA Public Library is the central library in the Downtown LA area.

It's surrounded by a fence topped with gargoyles, and locked up at night, patrolled by security guards. However, it's still accessible via a sewer entry.

A storage room contains a secret staircase down to a hidden ritual chamber.

Ritual Chamber

Lit by green flames, this area features a pentagram on the wall and inscribed into the floor, with a raised dais in the middle, upon which rests a coffin.

In late 2004, this area was being presided over by an unnamed Lasombra. He had Jumbles ready to sacrifice Beckett's associate Scott in order to prove himself worthy of joining the Sabbat.

  • Just as the real-world LA Public Library's Central branch is directly across the road from the U.S. Bank Tower -- formerly the tallest building in LA -- so is VTM: Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines ' library directly across the road from the Venture Tower.
  • The Library was cut from the final game. Wesp5 and burgermeister01 restored the Library for the Plus version of the Unofficial Patch, basing the design on the real-world location and using unused textures and models found in game files.
