Psychopomp (CofD)

Psychopomps are animal-like inhabitants of the Underworld, usually encountered in the Dead Dominions.

Overview

The appearence of a psychopomp varies, but they usually have red glowing eyes and black fur or feathers. When encountered by a traveler, they do rarely engage with them, but some are reported to follow travelers who cross one of the Rivers.

Sin-Eaters theorize that Psychopomps are the ghosts left behind by animals, since supernatural powers that affect animals can be used on psychopomps. They argue about their place within the ecology of the Underworld and their relation with the Old Laws.
