Rage (WTF)
Rage (First Tongue: mir) is the killing fury that all Uratha harbor, which threatens to overtake them at any time.
Overview
Werewolves tend to be passionate by nature, and they feel all emotions intensely, but none so terrible as anger. Quick tempered from childhood, their rage simmers inside them, threatening to overwhelm them if they don't find some release. One day they finally do: the First Change unleashes their true forms, and they can finally give vent to all that terrible anger, welded as it is to the instincts of a predator.[1]
This rage can make relationships with non-werewolves difficult and dangerous. Part of the joy of having a pack, for Uratha, is being able to be themselves — their whole selves — without worrying that an angry outburst will scare or kill their packmates.[2] The Wolf-blooded may also struggle with anger issues far beyond what humans are capable of dealing with, even if they lack the supernatural abilities to express it the way their cousins do.[3]
Rage is most evident when a werewolf takes the Gauru form: they are driven to attack for as long as they can maintain the war form.[4][5] The purest and most dangerous expression of this rage is Kuruth, the Death Rage.[6][7]
