Robert Garrick

Robert Garrick was the former Tremere Primogen of Los Angeles.

Biography

Before the Embrace, Robert was a stage magician - possibly hailing from Dorchester, England. He served as Primogen of Clan Tremere under Prince Vannevar Thomas and a lieutenant to his Elder clanmate Maximillian Strauss. A devoted member of House Tremere, Robert considered himself a servant of his Clan first and the Camarilla second, even going so far as to steal an ancient stone tablet from a display case in Prince Thomas' haven. From his perspective, such occult knowledge was far more useful in Tremere hands anyway.

Robert was also the leader of a Warlock coterie known as The Black Rabbits, who specialized in infiltrating the various stage magic and amateur occultist subcultures of LA as a means of gathering useful intelligence about the city.

Indeed, there seems there is little Robert would not do in the name of House and Clan, including serving as scapegoat for his superiors. After Strauss' Gargoyle servant was discovered lurking within the depths of the labyrinth underneath LA and was subsequently destroyed by the Anarchs, Robert was thrown under the bus by his own clanmates in order to preserve the tenuous truce between the city's rival sects. As "punishment", he was stripped of his Primogen status and sent away, his seat within the Court being filled by his colleague Katya.

Trivia

  • Robert Garrick was introduced as the player character of special guest Ivan Van Norman in LA by Night in S3E5: Play the Devil. Though his character is mentioned several times afterwards, this is the only time Robert actually appears "in-character" throughout the chronicle.
