Roleplaying game (WOD)
- This article is about roleplaying games that exist in the World of Darkness. For general coverage of the concept, see roleplaying game.
A number of roleplaying games (RPGs) exist within the World of Darkness, most of them direct parodies of real-world RPGs published by White Wolf or other companies.
RPG Companies
There are a multitude of companies who produce RPGs. The most popular companies are Magicians of the Bay and Black Dog Game Factory.
A list of the big guns include:
- Apex Amusement Association, known for Undead Cowboy, Undead Cowboy Train Duel, Radioactive Cowboy and Superhero Radicals.
- Cryptograph
- Discordium, known for games based on the fiction of Edgar Allen Poe.
- LSD, Inc. Created the popular Labyrinths & Lamiae, mismanaged it, and collapsed. LSD was "merged" with MotB to help recoup costs.
- Magicians of the Bay (or MotB, pronounced "mot-bee"). Made millions off the popular card game Buy More Sorcery. Currently own and operate L&L.
- Black Dog Game Factory, who burst into the industry with Revenant: The Ravishing and the attendant World of Shadow. Their games use the Talespinner System, whose Storyteller analogue is naturally called the Talespinner.
- The Game Designer's Group
- Stan Paxton Games, known for Holy Damnation and CRUNCH.
