Thanatologist (GTSE)

Thanatologists are Bound who have a purely academic interest in death and dying. Often, before their first death, they actively did not believe in the existence of ghosts or an afterlife, so the Bargain was a rude and uncomfortable awakening. Now they try to understand and quantify this new world they've been thrust into as a way of regaining control. Thanatologists are typically loners, rarely even communicating with their own geist, much less joining krewes or caring for the ghosts of strangers. Those who do form organized krewes do so to gather and cross-reference information, not with the community-mindedness of Mourners, but for personal gain, individual status, or idle curiosity.
