Helen Richards was a cinematographer who worked on a number of B-movies for Elegant Pictures.
She was fired by production manager Steve Tagger after accusations of drug use while on set for 1996's The Journey. At some point after the firing, she returned home to New York City.
Her body was found in Carl Schurz Park on February 16, 2013, and identified three days later. An autopsy showed she had died from exposure while under the influence of illegal substances.
Spectre
After she died, she returned as a Spectre, the Sad Cinematographer, returning to California to haunt Howard Barclay, to mixed success. She seemed bound to the Barclay Mansion, but Barclay himself didn't linger after he died. Like the Mansion's other Spectres, she hunted down the wraith of Ed Miller instead, seeming to confuse him for Barclay.
As a Spectre, she stumbled around, shivering, surrounded by snowflakes, reflecting the manner of her death.
Background Information
- Her most notable appearances are at the beginning of the game, haunting the Garden. Later, she patrols the movie theatre.
