Ugly

Ugly, born Richard Benton, is a Malkavian vampire and a regular patron of the Purgatory Bar.[1]

Biography

Richard Benton returned from the horrific battlefields of World War One with mental scars that would never heal. His family was wealthy enough to have him "put away" as the custom was for soldiers who returned "shell shocked," and it was in an asylum on the outskirts of the city that he was Embraced - for the asylum served as a Haven for his Sire.

Word of the street is that Ugly has always been around. He was talking about peace and love way before the Flower Children of the sixties, and has been an active and vocal - if sometimes unwelcome - member of all local campaigns against war, and for social justice and freedom. He generally hangs out in Purgatory and is one of a growing number of Anarchs who are gravitating there. He sees the power of the Prince and the established order as a parallel to the hierarchy which sent countless young men off to die in wars throughout the centuries, and rails endlessly against the Elder. He does not know that his Sire is still secretly watching over him and has some influence in this Domain. It is his habit to continually attempt to convert the punks to the ideals of peace and justice, but without much success.

Description

Tall, scrawny, deep-sunk eyes, almost fleshless face, wild and ever-changing punk hairstyle (he has to shave each evening anyway, so he never cuts it the same). Dresses in heavy boots, combat fatigue trousers (heavily ripped), string T-shirt and tattered greatcoat.
