Zygaena

Zygaena (齐盖娜) is a Same-Bito Hengeyokai. Same-Bito typically take the form of sharks; in Zygaena's case, a hammerhead shark.[1][2]

Biography

Before coming to Los Angeles, Zygaena had killed the master of Ogami Yukie, a Japanese demon hunter. Yukie swore revenge against Zygaena and followed him to Chinatown in Los Angeles sometime during the Final Nights. With the help of a neonate vampire, they were able to track down Zygaena who unbeknownst to them, lead them to the Golden Oceans Fish Market to confront them only to ultimately meet his demise.[2] He also seemed to respect Ming Xiao, as he announced his presence in her city.

Abilities

As a hengeyōkai, Zygaena is a very powerful and dangerous being, having the ability to change his shape at will. He can turn into a bipedal hammerhead shark, thus capable of inflicting large amounts of damage.

Background Information

  • Sphyrna zygaena is the taxonomic nomenclature for the smooth hammerhead, and likely the source of Zygaena's name.
  • As a Ventrue, the player will be able to attempt to dominate Zygaena during conversation. This will, however, not affect him whatsoever.
  • As a Malkavian, the player will be able to attempt to use Dementation on Zygaena during conversation. Like Dominate, this does not appear to affect him.
