- Type locality: between I. Santa María and I. Santa Cruz, Galápagos Islands, Ecuador. Dredged from 106-110 metres’ depth at sta. 190 between I. Santa María and I. Santa Cruz.
- Holotype: W.R. Taylor #34-351A; 1934-01-26; Hancock Foundation. (cystocarpic).
