- Holotype: AMNH 158175, adult ♂, skin and skull.
- Type locality: “‘‘Top Camp’’ (09°49'S,149°16'E), 2230 m, north slopes of Mt. Dayman, Maneau Range (also spelled ‘‘Maneao’’) at the eastern end of the Owen Stanley Ranges, Milne Bay Province, eastern Papua New Guinea”.
