Gaeolaelaps gillespiei Beaulieu, 2009: 38, figs. 1–11
- Holotype: ♀; 15 April 1982, Dave Gillespie.
- Type locality: Canada, British Columbia, Sidney, ex. roots and soil of wilting gerbera plants.
- Etymology: Named in honour of David Gillespie (Agriculture & Agri-Food Canada) who collected the species and encouraged its use as a predator against fungus gnats and thrips
