- Holotype: MNHN CG 1999.184, adult ♀, skin and skull, collected by S. Ag Atteynine and Bruno Sicard on 2 January 1999.
- Type locality: “Emnal'here, right bank of the main course of the Niger River, 12 km east Mopti, Mali (14°28′26″N; 4°05′16″W). The exact place of capture was at mid-slope of a rocky outcrop situated c. 100 m westwards from the village, itself located close to the main road leading to Seâvareâ”.
