Name

Hexastylis Raf., 1883

  • Type species: A. arifolium Michx.

Note: Hexastylis is still often recognised at the generic level, particularly by botanists preparing local flora of the South-eastern states of the USA (Sorrie et al., 2020). However, in general it would be best circumscribed in Asarum subg. Heterotropa sect. Hexastylis (Sinn et al., 2015 & 2018).
