Name

Ipomoeeae J.Presl, (1846)

Type genus: Ipomoea L., Sp. Pl. 1: 159 (1753), nom. cons.

Note: Ipomoeeae is monophyletic, but Ipomoea is paraphyletic with some other tribal genera embedded in it. Changes are presently being explored (Eserman et al., 2014). However, as yet there is no consensus Muñoz-Rodríguez et al. (2023) c.f. Simões et al. (2024).
