- Lithobates sphenocephala Cope, 1886
- Type locality: "in a sulphur spring, near the St. John's River, about three hundred miles from Key West", Florida, USA.

This species was briefly transferred to Lithobates by Frost et al., 2006, but was transferred back to Rana by Hillis, 2007.
