Type species: Lucifer albipennis Döderlein, 1882. Type by being a replacement name. Replacement for Lucifer Döderlein, 1882, preoccupied by Lucifer Thompson, 1830 in Crustacea and by Lucifer Reichenbach, 1849 in Aves.
