Type locality: "Gunziling, about 10–12 km south of the small village Dingjia'ergou ... in the Tongxin Basin, Tongxin County, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region; upper part of Zhang'enbao Formation"; China.
Etymology: "the Tongxin Basin is located at the northern foot-hills of the Liupan Mountains" [Wang et al., 2020]
