Synonyms

• Calostigma imbe Schott in Schott & Endlicher, 1832): 19 [Under header as Philodendron, but per POWO is "not validly published". Sakuragui, Mayo & Zappi (2005) say (p.509) "Schott (1832) had published it previously as the invalid combination "C. imbe" (etc). This echoes Mayo, 1990: 57.].
• Philodendron imbe Schott ex Endlicher, 1837: 237 [see Sakuragui, Mayo & Zappi, 2005 citing Mayo, 1990: 57, reasoning that correct combination "Ph. Imbe" alongside "Schott's previously published description allows to be validated by extension of Art. 41.3; but see subsequent opinion in Mayo & Sakuragui, 2011: 1764].
• Philodendron imbe Schott ex Kunth, 1841: 50; per Mayo & Sakuragui, 2011: 1764 [As recognised by several catalogs].

[Note: Philodendron imbe was not accepted by Sakuragui, Mayo & Zappi 2005, who conclude (p.509) that "As its identity remains doubtful and this name could not be typified, it is better abandoned. Else they earlier state that the taxon "said to have been validated first by Endlicher (Endlicher 1837: 237)" per Mayo, 1990. However, later Mayo & Sakuragui, 2011 provide typification, and instead favour the authority as Schott ex Kunth, 1841. As of Feb. 2025, POWO considers it as an "Unplaced Name"]
