Synodontis thamalakanensis Fowler, 1935
- Holotype: ANSP 53245.
- Paratype: TMP 15305 [ex ANSP 53246] (1) (? now at SAIAB (formerly RUSI)).
Type locality: Thamalakane River at Maun , Botswana.
Etymology: The species epithet thamalakanensis is derived from the type locality of the species, the Thamalakane River.
