- Holotype: MNHN-ZM-MO-2000-639, subadult ♂, skin and skull, collected by Laurent Granjon on 4 December 1999.
- Type locality: “Dilly (15°01′129″N, 07°40′084″W), in the Sahelian zone of western Mali.”
