- Holotype: AMNH 268734, subadult ♀, skin, skull and partial skeleton, collected by Jorge Salazar-Bravo on 30 July 1993.
- Type locality: “an elfin forest near the headquarters of the Corani hydroelectric plant (17°12′43′′S, 65°52′09′′W, GPS coordinates, map datum WGS 84) at 2,630 m, Department of Cochabamba, Bolivia”.
