Name

Trimma kardium Winterbottom et al., 2015

  • Holotype: ROM 98815.
  • Paratypes: MZB 22714; ROM 87545, T012726, 88107.

Type locality: Kaimana, Triton Bay, White Rock Falls, (03°53.757'S, 134°06.638'E), 50 m depth.

Etymology: Named for the Greek kardia, a heart, in allusion to the two ovoid red spots that are joined anteriorly on the ventral surface of the head, and have an admittedly tenuous stereotypical resemblance to that organ when viewed from below.
