Type locality: Adria, Mediterranean Sea, from Cystoseira near Split (Spalato), Croatia.
Remarks: Xestoleberis adriatica Kempf, 2010 was published as a substitutional name for Xestoleberis obtusa Klie, 1942 which represents a junior primary homonym of Xestoleberis obtusa Lienenklaus, 1900.
