กลัวดอกพิกุลจะร่วง

From กลัว (gluua, “to fear”) +‎ ดอก (dɔ̀ɔk, “flower”) +‎ พิกุล (pí-gun, “medlar”) +‎ จะ (jà, “auxiliary verb used to indicate futurity, likelihood, etc”) +‎ ร่วง (rûuang, “to fall; to drop”); literally "to fear that a medlar flower would fall".

Derived from an old play about a princess called พิกุลทอง (pí-gun-tɔɔng; "Golden Medlar") who prefers to remain silent because whenever she speaks, a medlar flower will fall out of her mouth.
