    Inherited from Prakrit 𑀨𑀮 (phala), from Ashokan Prakrit 𑀨𑀮 (phala), from Sanskrit फल (phala), possibly borrowed from Proto-Dravidian *paẓam. Cognate with Hindi फल (phal) / Urdu پھل (phal).
