大同江

     U hyeol jang je cho saek da, song gun Nampo dong biga. Daedonggang su hasi jin, byeol lu nyeonnyeon cheom nong pa. [Sino-Korean]

     The rain has stopped, and by the long bank, the grassy hue is thick. To send my love away at Nampo moves me to sad songs. When will the waters of the Taedong ever run dry? For my longing tears, year after year, will add to the blue waves.

     Daedonggang sang byeol jeong'in, yangnyu cheon sa mi gye in. Hamnu an gan hamnu an, danjang in dae danjang in. [Sino-Korean]

     By the Taedong I bid my love farewell; the willow's thousand strands could not hold him back. Tearful eyes stare at tearful eyes, heartbroken woman facing heartbroken man.
