Description
A burger, often depicted as a sesame seed bun containing a patty, cheese, lettuce and tomatoes (but see the usage notes).[1]
Origin
First introduced in the emoji set of the Japanese mobile phone carrier Docomo in January 1999 as a stylised, pixelated brown-orange bun with a separated rectangle of the same colour in the centre; SoftBank introduced a clearer variant with cheese, tomato and lettuce in December.[1] This emoji was standardised by the Unicode Consortium in October 2010 with the release of Unicode 6.0.[2]

Usage notes
- The design and display of this pictogram varies by platform and emoji set. Most designs, however, actually depict a cheeseburger.[1][2]
