Borrowed from Ancient Greek Ἐπιφί (Epiphí), from Egyptian jpj-jpj. Compare Coptic Ⲉⲡⲏⲡ (Epēp).

  1. The eleventh month of the later ancient Egyptian civil calendar and Coptic calendar, corresponding to the third month of the season of Shemu. Since 25 BCE, when the calendar was reformed to include leap-days, Epeiph has been in roughly July.
