Etymology
From Proto-Indo-European *h₁eyǵʰ- (“to desire”), formed with the same *-lā suffix that belies *kaglā (yielding Welsh cael (“to get”)), *sāglā (yielding Welsh hawl (“plea, demand, claim”)),[1] and *gabaglā (“taking”).
