Reconstruction:Proto-Celtic/gʷoni
Proto-Celtic
Etymology
Verbal noun of *gʷaneti. This o-grade i-stem (with the Indo-European o-grade deverbal nominal suffix *-i) would be the only one of its kind in Celtic, which is why Gordon reconstructs zero-grade *gʷani analogous to the present stem *gʷane-.[1]
Noun
