  • The High King of Ireland, Brian Boru, pits his forces against a Norse-Irish alliance led by Sitric Silkbeard and his allies.[1] In the ensuing conflict, Brodir of Man kills Boru before being himself killed by his own brother's subordinate. Brodir, after his death, becomes a draugr, haunting the battlefield of Clontarf.[2]
