- A Guardian of the Veil going by the Shadow Name of Facet is discovered to smuggle away magical artifacts in Paris. Instead of comitting suicide, he volunteers to study the Mad. He warped his attainments, breaking his soul, but in the ensuing confusion he escaped, making him the first observed case of a mage intentionally turning into a Mad One.[1]
