  • After an investment windfall, Doctor Ignatius Hopper expands the Bishopsgate Sanitarium, mostly as homes for his staff.[1]
  • The United States signs the Treaty of Laramie with the Lakota Sioux. Among other things, it recognizes the Black Hills as tribal territory.[2]
  • Bonnie Reed escapes her Durance and returns to Boston. Though only three years have passed for her, twenty years have passed for her family, and her Fetch has been sending them letters from California the whole time.[3]
