  • Sudan is fully integrated into the kingdom of Egypt.[2]
  • Crook County, Oregon files a legal challenge over the formation of Deschutes County from its territory. The challenge fails.[3]

April

  • April 29: William types a letter to his brother Alexander asking for forgiveness acknowledging that he was wrong and he will never speak of the project he was working on again.[4]
  • April 29: Cap. David Murphy types a letter to Mr. Dear informing him that his brother Alexander was killed in action against the Germans after offering his gas mask to an other soldier.[5]

July

  • July 28: Archduke Franz Ferdinand is assassinated in Sarajewo by the Serbian nationalist Gavrilo Princip, a member of the terror organisation "Black Hand". This act brings the alliance systems of the continent into motion until nearly the entirety of Europe is at war with each other.[6]
  • July 29: William types a letter to his brother Alexander asking him not to join the upcoming war and ignore the call from the God-Machine. Citing trauma from the actions he took from the last war in Africa, William wishes Alexander to stay with him making timepieces.[7]

September

December

  • Soldiers on the Western Front institute a cease-fire in order to celebrate Christmas and bury their dead. In Hautes-de-France, and Avernian Gate forms, leading to an unusually peaceful part of the Underworld.[9]
