July
- July 28: Archduke Franz Ferdinand is assassinated in Sarajewo by the Serbian nationalist Gavrilo Princip, a member of the terror organisation "Black Hand". This act brings the alliance systems of the continent into motion until nearly the entirety of Europe is at war with each other.[6]
- July 29: William types a letter to his brother Alexander asking him not to join the upcoming war and ignore the call from the God-Machine. Citing trauma from the actions he took from the last war in Africa, William wishes Alexander to stay with him making timepieces.[7]
September
- September 1: William types a letter to his brother Alexander telling him to come back from the war safely.[8]
December
- Soldiers on the Western Front institute a cease-fire in order to celebrate Christmas and bury their dead. In Hautes-de-France, and Avernian Gate forms, leading to an unusually peaceful part of the Underworld.[9]
