• Bishopgate Director Donald Roe is strangled to death by a patient who escaped from the ward. For the remainder of the year, the asylum lacks a director, the board of trustees taking over until a director is found.^[1]
• A brawl between rival groups of Mardi Gras Indians in New Orleans turns fatal, but the dead almost immediately return as Bound. The two groups reorganize as a single Necropolitan organization, and popularize the term "krewe" for a group of Sin-Eaters.^[2]
