  • A radio adaptation of The War of the Worlds inadvertently persuades some listeners that aliens are invading New York City.[3]
  • A circus lion escapes its keepers and wanders into St. Michael's Church in Sittard, where it has a nap on the altar before it is recaptured. Local Unchained discover the church is Infrastructure and quickly suborn it.[4]
  • Almost a quarter of the population of New York City is still unemployed due to the Great Depression.[5]
