- Activist for the homeless Rachel Hrafn and her boyfriend are murdered in their home shortly after declaring opposition to a zoning law that would destroy a local tent city. The killers are never caught.[1]
- Occultist John Bedford authors Tablet of Universal Hermetic Theory as Applied to a Map of Existence, a thousand-page text which formed the basis for the beliefs of his followers, the Bedford Hermetic Coalition.[2]

- September 9: The Desert Raider motorgang of southern Arizona crosses Count Motherfucking Dracula, who kills them all and Embraces the leader. The Desert Raiders rechristen themselves the Brides of Dracula.[3]
