  • 9-16: Battle of the Teutoburg Forest. One of the most shocking defeats in Roman military history, and the beginning of a long legacy of bloodshed over the Rhine river.[1]
    • Arminius persuades Varus to to mark directly into an ambush of Germani, including numerous Uratha. The werewolves bind the legion's totem spirits, leaving the army in disarray. After four days, Varus orders his men to fall on their swords rather than retreat back to Rome in shame.[2]
