Background
Three further books for Third Edition, and subsequent editions, have been published after the IP was sold to Wizards of the Coast (and later Atlas Games), but those products fall outside the remit of this Wiki. Up to this point, Ars Magica may be seen as history to the World of Darkness, running roughly concurrent with the time periods of Vampire: The Dark Ages (1197) to Dark Ages: Mage (1230).
Atlas Games have since released Fourth and Fifth Editions, which have diverged further from the World of Darkness: for example, in ArM4 and ArM5, House Tremere continues to be a valid Hermetic House, was not overrun with vampires, and there was no subsequent Massasa War. For extensive information on these editions, consult Project Redcap and the Ars Magica Wiki.
