Builder of Tongues
The Builder of Tongues was an idigam active during the Neolithic.
Overview
Long hunted by Urfarah, the Builder escaped imprisonment by making a deal with a tribe of mortals: It would act as the concept of translation for them, enabling mutual aid.[1] Unfortunately, when the tribe died out, the idigam went mad, creating a Babbling Tower in which it could be reborn into something new.[1] Its very presence acted as a memetic plague, overwriting languages, memories, and other information.[1][2]
Two possibilities have been given for its eventual fate. If its metamorphosis was interrupted, it was unleashed as "a howling, psychotic terror of wings and words, spitting hatred and revelations", eventually destroying the Vinča culture if not stopped.[2] If left to complete its metamorphosis, it emerged from the Babbling Tower as a potent spirit-god of the concept of recollection.[2]
