Caged

The Caged were a small faction of Inquisitors active after the fall of Constantinople to Mehmed II and the God-Machine's subsequent withdrawal from the city.[1] Unlike their peers, the Caged believed that, in truth, the God-Machine never left. Instead, they posited that the Machine lay dormant, studying the Unchained with hidden Angelic pawns.[1]

When it was discovered that a mortal calligrapher was unknowingly writing out the life stories of the city's demonic population, the Caged immediately took it as a validation of their beliefs and sought to study the scribe.[2]
