Gildas

Gildas was the Summer King of the freehold of Nantes during the Rennes hostage crisis of 1683.

Overview

A wise old man whose greatest focus was the safety and autonomy of Nantes, Gildas distrusted outsiders, including the Court of the North Star, and was infuriated with Spring King Trémeur for pledging the freehold to the Accord.

Gildas was an honorable man, who fully intended to maintain the freehold’s oaths. All the same, he desperately sought any possible alternative to an invasion plan, so as to avoid spilling nantais blood.

Unfortunately, Gildas failed. Nantes took the greatest losses in the attack, and the king himself fell in combat.
