Legba (Scion)

Legba is the loa of gates and crossroads and twin brother of Kalfu.

Overview

Legba usually appears as an old black man with a cane and a broad-brimmed straw hat, usually smoking a pipe; he's accompanied by his dog and his horse. He is associated with the color red, and the Catholic saints Peter, Lazarus (patron of resurrection) and Anthony (patron of lost things). Legba can speak and understand any mortal language, and his advice can sent a mortal down the path they desire — or the path he does. No one enters the mythic realms without his permission.

Legba has played many roles in the modern World, ranging from a corner drug deal to a post-colonial dictator. He has an infectious laugh and a pleasant sense of humor that tends to put people off their guard — even if they suspect he was laughing at them, not with them. His Scions, similarly, are charismatic and sociable, tricksters and occasionally con artists. They are predisposed to opening doors and pathways, working as tour guides, wilderness scouts, or other such professions.
