Maurice Lourté

Maurice Lourté was a member of Project Utopia who pretended to defect as part of a gambit to flush out Teragen and Aberrant novas in 2015.

Overview

Lourté had an unusual two-tiered thought process that make him uniquely resistant to mental probes. His dominant personality was loyal to Utopia, but his secondary personality could be programmed to believe anything he chose. Mind-reading powers would only register the secondary personality, giving no cause to probe deeper for the primary one.[1]

As part of a scheme arranged by Director Thetis of Project Proteus, Lourté programmed his secondary personality to have serious misgivings about Project Utopia and decide to defect. He offered important secrets from the project to whatever faction could best protect him. This lead to a meeting arranged at The Amp Room in Ibiza on May 28, 2015 with representatives of both the Teragen and the Aberrants. Team Tomorrow Europe was supposed to intervene, in the hopes of capturing the other novas; they were not told that Lourté was a double agent.[2]

When the raid on The Amp Room went wrong, Lourté was killed by falling debris. The Terat Turncoat, however, assumed Lourté's appearance and personality in the confusion.[3]
