Tlaloc (Scion)

Tlaloc is the Atzlánti god of rain.

Overview

Along with Xipe Totec, Tlaloc is one of the oldest of Atzlánti, predating the Aztec empire. Despite his intimidating appearance ((bulging eyes, long fangs) Tlaloc manages the all-important relationship between earth and rain that's necessary for agriculture. The blood sacrifices offered to Tlaloc help him maintain equilibrium between flood and drought, sending rains when they're needed and withholding them when they're not.

Tlaloc has traveled throughout the modern World, and loves to regale listeners with tales about where he's been and what he's seen. It's best not to question any of these stories, no matter how outlandish, or else he'll become angry. He's worked as both an archaeologist and an engineer, equally fascinated with the ancient and the cutting edge. He also likes to work with children, as their hearts are more tender and snackable. Finally, he often works as a diving instructor, as drowned sacrifices are a favorite of his.

Tlaloc's Scions also believe in "the best of the old and the new": they love the modern world but respect and support tradition. They often take jobs in "helping" professions or volunteer in their free time, because they genuinely like being of service to others. However, they also inherit Tlaloc's dark side, giving them disturbing nightmares and unspeakable urges that they cannot help but act on.
