Le verbe ober se conjugue à partir de trois formes du radical : gra-, gre- et gr-.
Dans le cas de la mutation par adoucissement, le g initial disparaît au lieu de muter en cʼh.

Dans certains parties de la Bretagne (notamment le pays Vannetais), on trouve gober à la place de ober.
