Shield

Shield is a type of Arcadian Contract specializing in the protection and healing of others. Given their tendency to grow stronger with the burdens they carry, Ogres favor this Contract.

Abilities

Common

  • Cloak of Night: The changeling draws the darkness around herself and her allies to hide them from attention.
  • Fae Cunning: The caster boosts her Defense, being capable even of applying it to Firearms.
  • Shared Burden: The changeling inflicts injuries upon herself to heal the wounds of another.
  • Thorns and Brambles: Thorns and brambles grow around the changeling, immobilizing an enemy, draining him of Glamour, or outright attacking those nearby.
  • Trapdoor Spider’s Trick: The changeling cloaks an opening with Glamour to render it invisible.

Royal

  • Fortifying Presence: The target is healed of two points of mild or one point of severe Clarity damage.
  • Hedgewall: The caster summons a castle of thorns and brambles for protection.
  • Pure Clarity: The changeling steels herself against potential Clarity loss. She does not suffer a breaking point.
  • Vow of No Compromise: Downgrade one point of aggravated damage (on the caster or on another) to lethal. Gain the Stoic Condition.
  • Whispers of Morning: The changeling separates herself from reality, becoming incorporeal and weightless.
