Edge (CofD)
Edges are splat-specific variations on vector powers.
Edges represent the power of the vector interacting with the user's supernatural nature. This enhances or extends the vector power in valuable ways. While the same Edge may apply to more than one splat, they can still be fluffed differently in play. Every vector has a set of Edges at each level that cover the major splats, and while two splats may use the same Edge for one level of a power, they rarely use the same Edges throughout all five.
Specializations are more specific enhancements, and they do stack with Edges. For examples, the Authority ● power Surveillance has specializations for Invasives and Task Force VAKYRIE; an Invasive Cryptocrat would get the benefit of this Specialization and the Deviant Edge when using the ability. When a vector power involves multiple users, one character (usually the one making the roll) should be designated the lead user, and only their Edges and Specialties apply.
One advantage of Edges is that they ensure each level of a vector offers something of worth to every splat. For instance, the Semiotics ● power Comprehension allows members of the Rosetta Society to understand any language spoken by a living human being. Since this is something the Unchained can already do by default, their Edge for this ability gives them something new - they can share their comprehension with others.
