Fervor
Fervor is the vector of the Jeremiad. Through righteousness, we can prevent corruption.
Abilities
Purification ●
The fanatic can purge themself of any one Condition, except those caused directly by the Contagion, through meditation.
- Beasts,Changelings, Deviants, Werewolves: can also remove or suppress a Persistent Condition from another being, if that condition affects emotions.
- Mages, Mummies, Sin-Eaters: can also remove Conditions from others that affect mental processes.
- Demons, Hunters, Prometheans, Vampires: can remove Conditions that affect relationships.
Specializations:
- Bereaved: the target is shielded from non-Contagious Conditions and Tilts for the rest of the chapter.
- The Long Night: can suppress (but not remove) Contagion-related Conditions.
Divine Revelation ●●
By speaking to a mortal target, the fanatic can reduce the severity of the Contagion or temporarily suppress its symptoms. The target becomes addicted to the preacher's words.
Edges:
- Changelings, Hunters, Sin-Eaters: the target also gains two temporary dots in Composure (subject to trait maximums).
- Mages, Mummies, Vampires: the target also gains two temporary dots of Resolve (subject to trait maximums)
- Beasts, Demons, Deviants, Prometheans, Werewolves: the target also gains two temporary dots in Presence (subject to trait maximums).
Specializations:
- Genotypal Deviants: can eliminate stage 1 Infection entirely
- Lancea et Sanctum: these fanatics can target supernatural beings with this effect.
Cleansing Flame (Teamwork) ●●●
By confessing a sin to a colleague, a member of the Jeremiad can set things on fire.
Edges:
- Changeling, Demon, Deviant, Sin-Eater, Werewolf: The target also gains the Beaten Down Tilt.
- Beasts, Hunters, Mages: The user also learns all the Conditions on the target.
- Mummies, Prometheans, Vampires: The target is also Shaken.
Specializations:
- Elementals: the target is purged of one Contagion Condition, at a cost.
- Lucifuge: the target is cured of one Contagion Condition
Modern Miracle (Teamwork) ●●●●
Members of the sect cause a miraculous healing ability, at a great cost.
Edges:
- Mummies, Sin-Eaters: Targets of the Modern Miracle can come back from the dead.
- Demon, Deviants, Mages: Targets of the Modern Miracle can temporarily ignore all Tilts and Conditions
- Changelings, Hunters, Prometheans, Werewolves: the Modern Miracle can selectively target only some members of the audience.
- Beasts, Vampires: other Jeremiad gain a point to their fuel pool, subject to trait limits.
Specializations:
Godhead ●●●●●
A fanatic summons a surge of raw power, briefly becoming like unto a god, but taking lethal damage in the process.
Edges:
- Beasts physically manifest their Horror in the material world.
- Changelings can perform Hedgespinning even while Ironside, and get five automatic successes to spend.
- Demons get the benefits of Going Loud without losing their current Cover.
- Deviants temporarily increase the Magnitude of all Variations.
- Hunters immediately heal all lethal and bashing damage, if they're alive when the Godhead ends.
- Mages gain one free Reach on every spell.
- Mummies cause the Shaken condition, and gain four bonus dice to recruit a cultist.
- Prometheans can use Pyros to fuel this vector.
- Sin-Eaters know what Conditions affect everyone they see, and any perverse or sinister actions they've committed recently.
- Vampires gain two temporary dots of Blood Potency and fill their Vitae pool.
- Werewolves so resemble Father Wolf that spirits and other werewolves cannot fight them.
Specializations:
- Integrators can designate up to twelve "disciples," who forever after can see and interact with Infrastructure.
- Su-Menent: their Judge will take an avatar nearby soon.
